What is the difference between Sealux and Trimlux

A question we are frequently asked, lets see if we can shed some light on this.

What They Share
Both are two-part sealing systems: Each uses a PVC trim combined with hidden silicone sealant to create a watertight joint between the wall and tray or bath ledge. The silicone is concealed, enhancing both durability and hygiene. Flexible, joint-movement accommodation: They are designed to adapt to movement between wall and tray, reducing the risk of leaks over time. Installation variants: Both are available in ‘Pro’ (with holes) and ‘Reg’ (regular, without holes) versions. ‘Pro’ types must be fixed behind tiles using tile adhesive, while ‘Reg’ types use silicone and can be installed behind or over tiles—for repairs or retrofits.

What Sets Sealux Apart
Multiple width options: Available in 15 mm, 20 mm, and 25 mm strips. Silicone bond-breaker tape: Incorporates a distinctive green silicone bond-breaker inside the trim, which allows the silicone to stretch as joints move—enhancing flexibility and longevity. Customizable fit: More width options mean Sealux can better accommodate varied tile sizes and design needs

What Sets Trimlux Apart
Single width option: Trimlux is only available in a 25 mm strip. Flex-based movement design: Instead of a bond-breaker tape, Trimlux uses a toothed inner leg anchored into the ledge, combined with a flexible curved outer leg that bends as movement occurs—keeping the silicone protected and allowing flexibility. Hygienic and aesthetic edge: The curved outer leg not only conceals the silicone from view, but also deflects waste water (soap, shampoo, etc.) off the silicone and onto the ledge—minimizing grime and mold.
